Gros Morne National Park Festivals

Areas of unusual and inspirational beauty often lure artists, musicians and writers, and Gros Morne National Park is no exception. Theatre Newfoundland and Labrador has its own summer-long theatre festival, which puts off professional, culturally-rich performances at Cow Head and various other communities throughout the area. The town of Woody Point is an especially beautiful artistic hub within Gros Morne National Park and its historic Heritage Theatre hosts many performances, from rock bands to plays and author readings including Gros Morne Summer Music. The eclectic annual Writers at Woody Point festival is particularly popular and sells out every year, as people flock to listen to and meet writers and musicians from around the world. A fall offering is the Gros Morne Fall Fair in Cow head. Taking place in October the festival showcases unique local handmade craft, songs, walks and workshops on the arts. Trails, Tales & Tunes is another enormously popular event, which takes place annually in Norris Point in May. The festival incorporates daytime walks and hikes showcasing the stunning scenery, afternoon workshops and a wide range of local, provincial and off island entertainment making it a success year after year. Trails Tales and Tunes Festival were voted the #1 Festival in Newfoundland and Labrador and #4 in Canada by WestJet.

Due to Covid-19 many restrictions are in place that will not enable festivals to continue for 2020. Please check each festivals website for further information or if they are delivering a virtual festival and ways to support our local community.
